The Dallas Cowboys, the University Interscholastic League, the Texas High School Coaches Association and Houston Texans are teaming up to bring the InSideOut Initiative to Texas.
In April, 2016—Texas stakeholders came together at AT&T Stadium at the NFL Foundation’s Texas High School Character Education Forum, to continue laying the foundation to integrate the InSideOut Initiative throughout the state—and have honest discussions about the benefits of education-based athletics.
Since the launch, the InSideOut Initiative has deployed a pilot for weekly moral character lessons being delivered to every athlete in Arlington ISD, Texas, as a means to continue infusing the InSideOut philosophy into each team’s culture.
The InSideOut Initiative debuted Houston on Tuesday, January 31 at the Houston Texans YMCA as part of Super Bowl 51 and is looking forward to continued momentum.
“The Arlington ISD is excited to partner with the Dallas Cowboys to bring the InSideOut Initiative to our coaches and students. We are focused on developing our students through sports with more than physical skills, strategies and rules of a game. Our coaches can have a tremendous, positive impact on student-athletes and change the trajectory of their lives.”– Dr. Marcelo Cavazos, Superintendent, Arlington ISD
