From Buffalo Bills News:
Joe Ehrmann, Buffalo native and former NFL athlete, recently made a trip back to Western New York to speak to group of local football coaches and administrators. Hosted on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at New Era Field in the Paul Maguire Club, Ehrmann and Jody Redman, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the InSideOut Initiative, shared an important message on the impact of coaching in the lives of young athletes. Author of the popular book, “InSideOut Coaching: How Sports Can Transform Lives,” Ehrmann explained that at any level, coaches have a platform which allows them to act as mentors and teachers.
“We’ve got to reclaim the transformative power in the lives of young people to help them…that’s what our purpose is,” said Ehrmann. “Sports ought to be about the elevation of the human spirit of every young participant. Sports will engage more individuals, more families, more communities, in a shared activity, than any organization…in this society.”
