Hundreds of High School Coaches Recommit to Transformational Sports Culture in Indiana

Continuing deployment of the InSideOut Initiative, coaches and leaders from more than 100 Indiana schools to gather April 30 with the IHSAA Foundation, NFL Foundation, and Indianapolis Colts for training on character education through athletic experiences
April 24, Indianapolis, IN – In August of 2017, the InSideOut Initiative launched in Indiana, in partnership with the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana High School Athletic Association, the Indiana High School Athletic Association Foundation, and the NFL Foundation. Since then, hundreds of coaches from more than 100 Indiana schools have gathered several times for trainings and workshops, finally developing a formal cohort focused on engaging in in-depth discussions on purposeful education-based athletics.
“We have been deeply inspired by the leadership and commitment of our Indiana partners,” said Jody Redman with the InSideOut Initiative. “The coaches, athletic administrators, educational leaders, association partners and the Indianapolis Colts have all been key to helping the Initiative take root in the state, and we’re thrilled to be on this journey with such incredible partners.”
On April 30, 2019, hundreds of coaches and school leaders will regroup in-person at Colts Headquarters—the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center—for continued conversation about how to sustain forward momentum and culture change in school communities across the state. Colts general manager Chris Ballard will be on hand to address the group.*
